Hello My Name Is...
Katrina James

I am a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina and spent most of my life there. I have degrees from Fayetteville State University (B.S., Biology), Walden University (M.S., Education-Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment) and Arkansas State University (M.S., Educational Leadership). I entered teaching in 2000 as a second profession after being a Lab Technician. I began my teaching career at South View Middle School (Hope Mills, NC) as an 8th Grade Science teacher. I spent five years teacher for the Cumberland County School System.
Family is extremely important to me. I am happily married and have three sons.
In 2005 I relocated to my husband's hometown of Darlington. I have been at Hartsville Middle School since that time. While at HMS, I taught 8th grade Science four years. Two of those years were spent teaching single-gender classes for Team FOXES. I also spent four years as the Facilitator for the Team FOXES Learning Academy before taking on the responsibilities of 8th Grade Assistant Principal.
I am excited to serve as Assistant Principal for the STARS (Successful, Talented, Ambitious, Responisbile Students) of the 8th grade. I am looking forward to a wonderful year. Our goal is to prepare the students to be career and college ready.
I am a teacher at heart and love working at HMS. This is more than a job to me it is my calling. If I can be of any assistance please don't hesitate to let me know. I can be called at 857-3031 or emailed using [email protected].
