School Closings
How do I find out about school closings (snow days)?
If you believe schools may be closed or students dismissed early because of bad weather:
- Visit the Darlington County School District website for school closing information - http://www.darlington.k12.sc.us
- Listen to - BUT DO NOT CALL - the radio and television stations. If you call, you only tie up telephone lines and make it more difficult for school officials to communicate information to the public.
- Do not call any school official or school. Your help is needed to keep these lines open.
- If you do not see or hear Darlington County Schools listed on the television or radio stations, assume that school will open as usual. The television and radio stations only have time to list closed or delayed schools. They will not list schools that are opening on time.
