1. Rising 6^th Grade Summer Reading List

Choose One

·         Soul Surfer by Bethany Hamilton

·         The Revealers by Doug Wilhelm

·         Surviving the Applewhites by Stephanie S. Tolan

All 6^th grade ELA students are required to select and read one book from the sixth grade reading list.  The students will be tested on the book during the second week of school.

2.  Rising 7^th Grade Summer Reading List

Choose One

·         If a Tree Falls at Lunch Period by Gennifer Choldenko

·         Smiles to Go by Jerry Spinelli

·         The Juvie Three by Gordon Korman

All 7^th grade ELA students are required to select and read one book from the seventh grade        reading list.  The students will be tested on the book during the second week of school.

3.  Rising 8^th Grade Academic English Summer Reading List

       Choose One

·         Hero by S.L. Rottman

·         Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

·         Toby Wheeler: Eighth Grade Benchwarmer by Thatcher Heldring

All 8^th grade academic ELA students are required to select and read one book from the eighth grade reading list.  The students will be tested on the book during the second week of school.

4.  Rising 8^th Grade English I Honors Summer Reading List

      Mandatory

·         Son of the Mob by Gordon Korman (Tested during second week)

·         Nothing But the Truth by Avi (Project due first day of school)

English I - The students will be tested on Son of the Mob during the second week of school.  The students are required to complete the attached project on Nothing But the Truth. The project is to be turned in the first day of school.
